Working Differently, Part 1 — Travel

For me traveling in the front of the plane, car service, staying at high end hotels were all part of putting up with the corporate drama. If I was going to drop everything to dance in Tokyo to placate some nervous exec then at least I’d go comfortably. Now that I am working for myself I don’t pick planes by which airline I have the best chance to upgrade, or hotel by the gym, etc. It’s hotels by Priceline and airline by whoever can get me there cheapest even if it is a tiny regional jet. I know now I’d rather sit in the middle seat on my dime than sip a first class bourbon on someone else’s.
