CNN’s power is amazing. The #11 search right now on Google is for the Commodore 64. http://tinyurl.com/2dmr3z 64 — steverubel
The Commodore 64 was my first computer (yes that makes me in my late 30’s). I loved it. In the beginning I didn’t have a storage method (no cassette tape drive, no floppy disk) so I’d type programs into the computer in HEX from Byte or other mags and then couldn’t turn the thing off until I’d typed it all in and played around with the game, utility, whatever.
It was the C64 that introduced me to piracy (cracked games on floppy where HUGE) and believe it or not to desktop publishing when I took a souped up C64 with memory expansion, RAM disk, 2 floppy drives and GEOS and a mouse and used it to publish a fraternity directory for fall rush with 300 dpi laser printing. I thought I was so cool.
I was such a geek.
