I’m trying to be more consistent about always having a camera with me. Of course, I know the Android phone (or phones God help me) in my pocket have great cameras, the “best camera is the one you have with you” and all that. I use my phone all the time. I just don’t use them as much, for whatever reason, as I do a dedicated camera.

When I put a camera strap around my neck or a point and shoot in my pocket, whether its film or digital, I am looking for something to photograph. I’m looking at the world differently, intentionally, specifically. These days photo walks are rare so if I am out its to walk the dog or run an errand. Yet if I have a camera with me, on me, my eyes are always looking for that shot.

This mix of color and shape was taken while I was out walking the dog just a few blocks from the house when I happened to have my Contax T3 pocket camera with me.
