Weights and Measures

I’ve been working very hard since the spring on my fitness. Eleven hour flights to Tokyo, stress, a general love of good food and a slower metabolism as I’ve gotten older had turned me from an athletic guy to, well to not put too fine a point on it, a lump.

So I committed myself to getting back in shape thanks to encouragement of some good friends. I found a great trainer to lift with and started working out twice a day and watching my calorie intake. I started treating my fitness like a software project complete with spreadsheets to track my weight and measurements. I’ve even recently taking up running again (I used to run 5 miles a day on an 8 min mile pace back in Atlanta).

Since starting in March I’ve lost 69 lbs toward a goal of losing 160 lbs. Overall across my neck, arm, chest, belly, waist, hips and thigh I’ve lost 29 inches. I’ve made a lot of progress and am almost at the halfway point. It’s time to start sharing my progress with the world at large so I’m going to start posting the charts I use to track my progress.

Why share this? Honestly I can use all the support and encouragement I can get. Also if being more open helps inspire others, that’s even better.

Just don’t look for any before/after shots of me posing in shorts.
