Disc sellthrough to consumers was off nearly 20percent, from nearly $2.6 billion in the first quarter of 2010 to $2.07 billion in the first quarter of 2011, due chiefly to the lack of tentpole releases this quarter.

DVD sales are off and will continue to decline. That is driven by continued ease of low cost rental (Netflix, Redbox) and digital distribution, both streaming and download. Rental spending, including streaming and VOD, was up 2.5%.
