St. Jean Pied de Port, France
I left Seattle on April 1st to journey across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Almost 8 weeks later after reaching the ocean at Finisterre, and then sightseeing in Madrid, Lisbon and Porto, it was time to come home on May 27th.
I was not only awed by mountains, plains and cathedrals but by the beauty of human nature. The people I met, both pilgrims on the Camino and locals everywhere, were open, helpful and kind.
It was an amazing trip.
It was also one of the hardest things I’ve ever done both mentally and physically.
Since landing back in Seattle I’ve been busy telling Camino stories and trying to figure out what comes next. While the job search ramps up I have time to begin curating and editing the over 50 rolls of 35mm film and several hundred digital photos I brought back.
Meanwhile it’s great to see everyone and talk about my experience. If you’d like to reconnect just drop me a note — I’m back online.
Sounds like an epic trip. I’m looking forward to seeing the photos.
