Trump doesn't want a democratic Iran.Trump doesn't want a democratic Venezuela. Trump doesn't want a democratic Cuba.Trump and the oligarchs pulling his strings want compliant regimes that will let US companies exploit their oil, minerals, and populations.Democracies would just get in the way.

Just to follow up on this, I don’t grieve that these regimes might be toppled. I just don’t think the ends justify the means if the President is going to ignore the constitutional requirement to seek Congressional approval before going to war.
